Kappa Delta

Our Officers

Kelsey O'Hara

President

"I'm a Biology major with a minor in Population & Public Health, and my goal is to become a radiation oncologist in the future. I'm also part of the Honors Program here. Other groups that I'm involved in are the Pre-Health Society and the JCU Dance Ensemble. I volunteer at University Hospitals and at MedWish as well! For me, it wasn't why KD; it was why not KD? I love having found my home here and have truly been able to call everyone in KD a sister. They've gotten me through so many things, and always know how to make me laugh or smile when I'm having a bad day. If not for Kappa Delta, I wouldn't even be half the woman that I am today. Years ago, I never would've considered myself a leader, yet here I am. These inspiring ladies have not only boosted my confidence in ways I didn't think possible, but they've shaped me into my true self!"

Meg Frankenberger

VP- Member Education

"Hi, I'm Meg and I'm from Rochester, NY. I'm a freshman Political Science and Communications major with a minor in Spanish and Hispanic Studies. You can usually find me at practice for the Debate Team, reading, or running from one meeting directly to another. If you're looking for any fun facts: I love Vincent van Gogh, travelling, and am a proud member of the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Organization (HOBY). In less than a year, Kappa Delta has already helped me immensely with my confidence, and has given me an amazing support system. As someone from a small family, love, trust, and loyalty are really big things for me and I am blessed to say that I have found those in my sisters. I am really so blessed to have found my home in Kappa Delta and I couldn't be more thankful to have this amazing opportunity to serve on council."

"I am a junior and from Cleveland, Ohio. I am majoring in Communication with a concentration in Integrated Marketing. I am a part of ROTC and joined the Ohio Army National Guard in February 2015. I write for Her Campus and am a student worker in JCU's Center for Service and Social Action. I participated in service activities at Warner Girls Leadership Academy, Carroll Ballers at the Juvenile Detention Center and is a tutor for the We The People Program at Heritage. If I was given a great deal of free time, I would want to travel to as many places as possible. I went on an Immersion Trip through John Carroll to Louisville, KY in 2015. This winter I am traveling to Traverse City, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, and Denver, Colorado. As far as Kappa Delta, I have met some of my best friends. Kappa Delta has given me some of the greatest memories in college. I have lived on the floor since freshman year and have met so many amazing people. I am proud to call myself a Kappa Delta woman and it is an honor to serve on council for this organization."

Marisa Foley

VP- Community Service

"My name is Marisa Foley, and I am the current Vice President of Community Service. I am a junior Management and Human Resources major. Eventually, I would like to move to London, and work in recruitment at some firm or an entertainment organization. My dream job would be recruiting for BuzzFeed, and working in their Human Resources Department in London. I also serve as the Treasurer for Students for Social Justice on campus and I am an Arrupe Scholar as well, which I have been focusing on Human Trafficking as my advocacy project. I am from Boston, Massachusetts and I am half Spanish, and speak it as well. I really love reading, dogs, Netflix, and Harry Potter, and you could say those are some of my hobbies."

Carrie Valletto

VP- Public Relations

"I am a sophomore at JCU from Willoughby, Ohio. I love dogs (especially my own), flowers, having fun, sitting outside on a warm summer night, and Thomas Rhett. I was initiated into Kappa Delta in the fall of 2015 and already after one year, I have grown into a more confident and ambitious woman. I joined Kappa Delta because I wanted a home away from home, but little did I know that it would bring me so much more. Kappa Delta has given me some of the best friends that I have ever had and, also, the encouragement for me to become a better version of myself."

Gena Nigro

VP- Standards

"My name is Genevieve Nigro, I hail from Lake Zurich Illinois, and I am majoring in English with a concentration in Professional Writing. Besides Kappa Delta, I am also involved in Her Campus as a writer and as the social media director. In my spare time, I enjoy going on adventures with my friends, having a good laugh, and watching Netflix while eating flaming hot cheetos. My Chipotle order is a bowl with white rice, black beans, steack, corn, lettuce, mild salsa, cheese and guac. When I joined Kappa Delta, I was expecting to gain new friends and be more involved socially, but I got so much more than that. Because of my sisters in KD, I am a more confident woman, and the world has opened up to me. I love KD because it has given me so many opportunities to serve others and my community."

"Hi my name is Marissa and I am a freshman from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I plan on majoring in Biology and minoring in both exercise science and leadership development. I enjoy surfing, paddle boarding, and swimming but when I am not in the water I enjoy being outside hiking and biking or going country line dancing with friends.
