Kappa Delta is committed to providing all members opportunities for growth and lifetime learning. Our member education includes quality programming on important topics.
Relevant member education begins soon after a new member accepts her bid. Members participate in member education workshops, which are held in conjunction with chapter meetings to keep from overtaxing already busy schedules. Chapter members complete educational sessions on Kappa Delta’s Ritual and heritage, academic excellence, risk management, leadership and community service.
Chapter leaders also develop workshops on the four PACE topics based on members' interests and needs of the chapter. These workshops often utilize outside speakers and campus resources.
- Personal Presence – focuses on body image, self-esteem, embracing differences and other related topics. The workshop highlights our commitment to building confidence in women.
- Attitude – centers on how an individual's attitude can impact her success in college, in relationships and in life.
- Communication – focuses on helping members develop effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enlarging Our World – encourages members to expand their view of the world and learn more about global issues and people from diverse backgrounds.
In 2016, Kappa Delta adopted a new brand: Building Confidence, Inspiring Action. Throughout the collegiate years in Kappa Delta, our sisters are always encouraged to strive to become a better woman in accordance to the national PACE topics. Our sisters love to take on activities on and off campus to gain new experiences and also study abroad to gain more worldly experiences. Within our chapter, sisters love to encourage and instill confidence in one another- we want our sisters to be the best versions of themselves.
Each Kappa Delta woman is a leader and is constantly trying to improve and better ourselves and our University. From Peer Health Advocates to Tour Guides, from Sweet Carrollines to the Golf team, from helping local Girl Scout to raising money for the national organization PCAA (Prevent Child Abuse America), Kappa Deltas are involved. We pride our chapter on its involvement and try to get as many Kappa Delta women involved outside of KD. Transforming our community, as well as ourselves, Kappa Delta has a mission to better every women who walks through our doors. Whether it is cheering on the blue streaks from the sidelines, or volunteering throughout the Carroll and Cleveland community, Kappa Deltas are making a difference and are proudly wearing their letters while doing so!
